Ashley Wilson

Epileptic, cancer survivor and Scout Leader, setting off to row the Indian Ocean in May

Ashley was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of seven, and used to only have seizures around once a year. Then, in his late teens, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and also started having up to 20 epileptic seizures a day. Ashley was able to beat Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and is now in remission. Through a long process and a lot of different medication he has managed to reduce his seizures to an average of one a week. Now he is attempting to row the Indian Ocean with Scout Ambassador, James Ketchell, and even has hopes of breaking the world record of 86 days. Alongside seasoned adventurer James Ketchell, Ashley will be fundraising for young people’s charities, including the Scouts.
