Baga Chipz as Kim Woodburn? Sam Thompson as Rachel Riley? Lady Leshurr as Big Narstie? Bring. It. On.
Lady Leshurr has released a relatable rap about lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic. Called ‘Quarantine Speech’ the song has similarities with her ‘Queen’s Speech’ series of freestyle raps released in 2016. The tune serves as a serious message with elements like a chorus saying “wash them hands” but also is tongue-in-cheek and fun. The rapper from Birmingham is donating profits from the song’s streams, and from face masks she is selling, to the NHS.
I've compiled my personal top 10 list of visuals from urban artists in 2012, (some signed, some unsigned) which I feel showed real vision and upped the levels for music videos regardless of the toys (and money) they had at their disposal.
