I woke up this morning with that agony that fills your body when you're deep in the depths of despair. There are people who think emotional pain isn't as bad as physical pain but here's the rub, there's empirical evidence that physical pain and emotional pain are registered in the exact same region of the brain.
As I respect the passion and dedication most nutritionists have for their work, there are also those who are doing it because it is a tool to make a living from their own Orthorexia. The irony is that once you are free from Orthorexia, the Orthorexic nutritionists are easy to spot.
They say never work with children but our talented Food Tube family showed us just how much fun cooking with the kids is with some easy-peasy family recipes to get your teeth into!
If you are anything like me you would have grown up idolising your footballing hero's, my first was Kerry Dixon, then Glenn Hoddle, Paul Gascoigne and Gary Lineker. To have met any of those at a young age would have felt no less like meeting a God... The simple pleasure received from meeting someone you really look up to is something you don't actually ever forget. The Sports Connection Foundation asked me if I would accompany a young lad, Tomas Mayer, who has (DMD) Duchene Muscular Dystrophy and is confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his short life. Having DMD means all his body and organs are basically shutting down.
Having descended on Paris with the rest of the Kardashian/Jenner clan (I've lost count of them all now..) in the last few days, it seems the celebrity wedding of the year is set to get everyone talking, but how has Kimmy K been preparing for her big day?
I'm thinking about how angry I am that someone in London fixing my bathroom has put in a shower tray rather than a flat-tiled floor. I'm sitting in this perfection, attempting to practise being mindful, focusing on the beauty before my eyes but no, I'm dragged back to the shower tray saga and getting more and more angry. I'm trying with all I've got to not hate myself for being so shallow.
For me, hearing Get Lucky was like listening to Chic the first time. I bought their first single on US import in the UK in 1977 on money borrowed from my Dad as I was only 15! I've got to give a massive big up Daft Punk for mentioning me in their groundbreaking Teachers track. That is an honour - now all I want is their mansion, haha!
Kids are bored. Drinking is cheap. Cheaper than anything else on offer around them leisure-wise by far. And it's sad. Because it wouldn't cost the earth. If kids want to knock about a coffee shop of an evening in London then they can. Because they are open past six o'clock. Why can't we do that for our young people in the North East?
This week we welcomed 'A Girl Called Jack' (Monroe) to the Food Tube family. Jack made her name as a cash-strapped single mum living in Southend. With her immense resourcefulness, she tightened her apron strings and threw flour in the face of adversity. Check out her Food Tube debut
As Cannes Film Festival opens in true style this week, I'm invited for afternoon tea with HRH Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, the grandson of the last king of Italy, and heir to their dynasty. The encounter left me charmed, shocked, impressed, but above all lost for words at how he, like Prince Harry, just wants to be one of the lads.
As we know, in this day in age nothing is private. If Beyoncé is going to share her marriage, her husband, her pregnancy, (remember she announced it during her performance on stage at the MTV awards) and her holiday photos with the world then you can't blame people for any further interest.
Someone said to me in the office the other day that perhaps in the future people will look back at this time in history and compare our current obesity crisis as the same way that we now view the harm that smoking cigarettes causes. "Why did we not do more about educating our children about good food and how to cook it?" we might be saying.
After all the comings and goings of the last few weeks, finally a moment to write properly about Bob Blakeley. Within two months of meeting him I had signed him and recorded his album Performance which is proudly released on Dramatico records on 19 May. If it's been a whirlwind for me you can imagine what it must have been for him...
I think able bodied people are in denial about their thoughts and feelings towards us - they don't want to deal with the thought process, so they shut it out. Well, we are here! And with medical advances and people living longer, there are only going to be more of us! So maybe it's time for people to start coming to terms with their feelings about disability.
Ladies, next time you find another "Celebrity Mum Cellulite Shocker" hitting the headlines, thank your lucky stars that you and your post baby self are free from the prying eyes of the world at large.
