On Good Morning America, the Sweet Magnolias star teared up when asked about her strained relationship with her sister.
The younger Spears sister had pledged to donate a portion of her upcoming book's proceeds to the mental health nonprofit This Is My Brave.
The singer also claimed that her “support system hurt me deeply” and that the conservatorship she's under “killed my dreams”.
The singer's sister has insisted she's always been supportive of Britney, but preferred to do so privately.
The singer is about to speak in court about the legal conservatorship that has been in place since 2008.
Britney Spears took to Instagram to reassure her fans she is fine after rumours swirled online that she was being held against her will. Fans had gathered around the hashtag #FreeBritney after the singer checked herself into a mental health facility. The star had said she was taking some time off as her family dealt with “a lot of stress and anxiety”. Jamie Spears, Britney’s father, has reportedly dealt with some serious health issues which led to the singer cancelled her planned Las Vegas residency in the New Year.
