Dr Dame Sue Ion, FREng, is one of the UK’s foremost nuclear engineers. She represents the UK on the European Commission EURATOM Science and Technology Committee.
This year Dame Sue became the first woman to be awarded the Royal Academy of Engineering President's Medal for her outstanding service to the nuclear industry and to the wider world of engineering. In October, she was also announced as the first female chair of judges for the he UK’s longest running national prize for engineering innovation, the Royal Academy of Engineering MacRobert Award.
