Michael Taylor

Michael Taylor is the External Affairs Advisor at Manchester Metropolitan University where he works alongside the Vice-Chancellor Malcolm Press and the Chancellor Lord Mandelson on initiatives with other anchor institutions in the city and the region. He does this through high level business engagement and projects around Greater Manchester Devolution and Northern Powerhouse, including leadership of a research-led think tank, MetroPolis. Michael is also a member of the University of Manchester Alumni Association Advisory Board, a non-executive director of New Charter Housing Trust and of Liberty Pensions, a fast growing financial services business in Greater Manchester. He was previously an award winning business journalist and editor of a regional business media group and co-founded the Discuss Manchester debate forum. His debut novel '40 by 40 was a finalist in the 2014 Pulp Idol prize. He lives in Marple with his wife and their five sons.
