Nick Davis

Former BBC foreign correspondent now freelance radio and television reporter based in the Caribbean

Nick Davis is a BBC stringer based between Trinidad and Jamaica. He was the Corporation's Correspondent in the Caribbean until 2010 and decided to make Kingston his permanent home in 2011. Before this he was the New York Correspondent for Radio 1 and was part of the launch team for BBC 1Xtra. During his time at these networks he won a Sony Gold Award for his documentary on young Muslims called "Pillars of Faith" and was nominated for an Amnesty Media Award for his work into homophobia in Jamaica. His work as Community Affairs Reporter for BBC 5 Live saw him present on the station and produce a number of hard hitting investigations. He recently wrote a book on Jamaica as part of the series Culture Smart!: The Essential Guide to Customs & Culture and co-owns an adventure travel company called Beach-Safari that specializes in off the beat and track trips in the West Indies.
