Yohei Sasakawa is Chairman of The Nippon Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Japan and among the largest in Asia. He also serves as WHO Goodwill Ambassador for Leprosy Elimination. For over 40 years, he has led the struggle to eliminate leprosy and address the problem of discrimination. Since 1975, The Nippon Foundation has been supporting WHO’s Global Leprosy Programme as a principal donor.
