Manchester City Striker Sergio Agüero Out For A Month

Just A Month - Agüero Agony Eased

Manchester City striker Sergio Agüero will be out of action for a month after he suffered a knee injury in the weekend Premier League win against Southampton.

The Argentinian was substituted in the first-half of City's opening league game following a fair challenge from Saints right-back Nathaniel Clyne.

Although City fans feared the worst for their title-winning hero, any concern has been allayed as the Guardian report the 24-year-old will be sidelined during international fixtures as domestic football takes a two-week recess.

Agüero will however be absent for Sunday's away match at Liverpool as well as for the visit of Queens Park Rangers on 1 September at the Etihad Stadium. He was scheduled to start his rehabilitation work today.

Edin Džeko, who replaced Agüero, scored City's equaliser in their 3-2 defeat of the Premier League newcomers on Sunday and will vie with Mario Balotelli for a starting role alongside Carlos Tévez.
