To anyone thinking you are above this, that your life is worth more, that you don't want or need to help anyone in this world, I pity you. This is one world, just the one. And we're breaking it. Now, I know I can only talk for myself on this one. I know I don't have all the answers on what we can do to stop all this, but to to all the refugees in the world, I am sorry too.
I suspect that politicians are quite happy to use the police for their political purposes - boasting when crime is down for instance - but happy to see them carrying the can when victims are let down because the rest of us really don't care enough. If we all really cared about what happens to victims like Lily Allen then things would change.
It is the 'drip drip drip' of direct and indirect stalking behaviours over time that makes it so insidious and damaging - psychologically and physically. Many victims say stalking is like mental rape. I call it murder in slow motion. It's a war of attrition yet many fail to see or understand it. Victims pay with their lives.
Like most of my friends, I waited till my mid thirties to procreate. My body was more than ready, but mentally I was just about there. Whatever medicine, or medics tell us, no woman can put down roots until she is ready. And at 35, I was only just about there, but I also knew the risks that being 'older' would bring with it.
