AC Milan Match Abandoned After Players Are Racially Abused (VIDEO)

AC Milan players walked off in disgust after their black players were racially abused during their friendly with Pro Patria as the match was suspended.

Forward Kevin-Prince Boateng even stopped dribbling with the ball during the game to boot it at the section of the crowd who were airing the racial slurs.

Referees are empowered to stop a game if racist abuse has been aired and despite protestations from fourth division side Patria's players the match was abandoned.

Most in the stadium applauded the walk off after the referee halted the game.

The Pro Patria owner said: "Those people singing racist chants against Boateng aren't part of our ultras. It's up to authorities to tackle these episodes."

Urby Emanuelson, Sulley Muntari and M’Baye Niang were also reportedly targeted as well as Boateng.

Afterward, Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri said there needed to be a “signal” against racism, adding there has been “enough incivility.”

Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo said on Twitter: "In 2013, these things still happen .. how sad. Sorry for the families present and maximum solidarity to my comrades. #shame"
