Dempsey Fined By Fulham

Clint Dempsey has been fined by Fulham after refusing to play for the club, according to reports.

PA Sport say the American attacker's punishment comes after he told manager Martin Jol he wanted to leave for Liverpool.

The Reds made an enquiry for the 29-year-old earlier this summer however Jol today revealed no offer has yet been made.

"If we get the right price for Clint we will sell him. If not, he will stay," the Dutchman revealed at his pre-match press conference.

Dempsey pulled out of Fulham's pre-season training camp in Switzerland and Jol has has said it is "impossible" to keep the US international.

He hit 23 goals for Fulham last season and has regularly been linked with a move to Anfield during the summer.

Fulham take on Norwich City at home on Saturday as they begin their 12th consecutive season in English football's top flight.
