England have departed for their European Championship base in Krakow, Poland, five days ahead of their first match at the tournament.

Rooney is banned for the first two games

The Three Lions departed Luton Airport this afternoon as preparations prior to their Group D opener against France in Donetsk gather pace.

All 23 squad members boarded the plane, as Roy Hodgson was able to pass a clean bill of health after the withdrawals of Gareth Barry, Frank Lampard and Gary Cahill in the space of eight days.

Hodgson's side will face Sweden on 15 June in Kiev before returning to Donetsk for their final group game against joint hosts Ukraine on 19 June.
