Rob Green has signed for Premier League survivors Queens Park Rangers on a free after leaving West Ham United.

Green, 32, helped the Hammers to immediate promotion back up to English football's top flight via the play-offs last season, yet has ended his six-year association with the club and inked a two-year deal with the Rs.

Green told the Loftus Road club's website: "I'm excited about the challenge ahead and hugely encouraged by the direction in which the owners and Mark Hughes are looking to take the Club.

"It's an exciting period for everybody connected to QPR and I can't wait to get started."

QPR manager Mark Hughes praised Green's "vast experience at international and Premier League level" as well as his characteristics and pedigree.

Currently on international duty at Euro 2012, Green made 241 appearances for the Irons after signing from Norwich City for £2m in 2006.

The England stopper has won 12 caps for the national side, and is number two to Joe Hart in the goalkeeping pecking order.
