Thirteen years ago, Rivaldo scored a stunning overhead free-kick in injury time to register not just a hat-trick, but ensure Barcelona would play Champions League football again the following season. Cristiano Ronaldo's volleyed flick against them was not as dramatic, but just as spectacular, and it could prove to be the defining moment in Real Madrid's La Liga season.
Trailing Valencia 2-1 in the 92nd minute, Ronaldo outdid himself when he nonchalantly backheeled Angel di María's cross past Diego Alves to equalise.
Following Barcelona's draw with Getafe and Atlético Madrid's defeat at Levante, the fate of the title was in Madrid's hands. However, they fell behind when Jeremy Mathieu nodded in before Sergio Ramos levelled with his third headed goal of the week.
Dani Parejo's restored Valencia's lead, only for Ronaldo to have the last word. Again.
