Wales thrashed England 30-3 to dash their Six Nations Grand Slam hopes and beat them to retain their title.
Spurred on by a rousing Millennium Stadium crowd, Wales claimed their fourth Championship from nine thanks to two tries from Alex Cuthbert and Lee Halfpenny's four penalties. Owen Farrell's penalty to make it 6-3 was England's sole reply on their most catastrophic day under Stuart Lancaster.
Disappointment in Cardiff for England mirrored Wales' success in 1999 at Wembley, when in the final match of the Five Nations they earned a thrilling 32-31 victory to deny Clive Woodward's men a Grand Slam success.
Cuthbert scored two tries in the second half
Halfpenny's three penalties gave them a deserved half-time lead as their visitors, despite an uproarious rendition of the national anthem, were overawed.
Wales scored 21 unanswered points after the interval, with Cuthbert scoring the tries while Halfpenny kicked 12 points and Dan Biggar contributed eight, including a drop-goal.
A crushing humiliation for England, Wales' win was their greatest ever against their greatest adversaries, eclipsing the previous record of 25-0, which had stood for 108 years.
