USA Nike Away Kit Criticised For Being 'Russian' (PICTURES)

Is It France? Is It Russia? No, It's The Much-Maligned USA Away Kit (PICTURES)

The United States debuted their new World Cup Nike away kit in Wednesday's friendly with Mexico in Arizona, and the reception has been mixed.

Irrespective of its away kit status, the garb resembles the Dutch - or an eastern European - flag due to its layered colours.

"Is this April Fool's? Trying to look like France?" one tweeter wrote. "Away U.S. soccer kit is alright but reminds me of France, Russia, Dutch. Not American and neither is that lighter blue! #USMNT" another added.

Mexico recovered from a two-goal half-time deficit to take a 2-2 draw in the international friendly.

With both sides looking to finalise their World Cup squads this clash was seen as a key one for a number of players and both sides could take positives and negatives from it.

The US struck first in the 15th minute, with Michael Bradley scoring a back-post volley to put them 1-0 up.

Impressive midfielder Bradley was involved in the second goal too, flicking on a 28th-minute Tony Beltran cross into the path of Chris Wondolowski who did the rest.

It looked as though Jürgen Klinsmann's side could get as many as they wanted at that point but, just four minutes after the break they were pegged back as Rafael Marquez cashed in a free header from a corner.

And Alan Pulido levelled things up midway through the half, tapping in after an initial shot came back off the post.
