"This is a big moment for everyone in the climate movement"
Members of the environmental activism group Greenpeace have blocked the entrance to oil-giant BP’s London headquarters with giant containers. They are demanding that the company switch to entirely to renewable energy and scrap exploration for new oil and gas. The protest comes on the heels of the Extinction Rebellion protests which blocked key areas in London for two weeks, also demanding that politicians and companies pay attention to the effects of climate change and environmental degradation. BP is hosting its annual general meeting on Tuesday in Aberdeen, Scotland.
The group have used containers weighing several tonnes to block the entrance.
