Cristiano Ronaldo opened his own museum in Madeira on Sunday, and left extra room in his trophy cabinet for the year's Ballon d'Or.

The Real Madrid forward is favourite to claim the prize for the first time since his 2008 win, following a breathtaking 2013.

"It's a special day, I don't want to mention specific ones," he said at the museum's opening. "All I want is to win more and if the Ballon d'Or comes, there is extra room here."

More than 125 of Ronaldo's awards are on show at the exhibition in his homeland.

The Portugal captain has won three Premier League titles, two League Cups, the Champions League, an FA Cup, the Primera Liga and the Copa del Rey with United and Madrid.

During his time in England, he was named back-to-back PFA and FWA Player of the Year and won numerous other individual accolades.

"Here is the evidence of what I have won, no one will take it away from here and these were things I wanted to share with my fans, show them what I have already achieved," he added.
