Sachin Tendulkar finally hit his hundredth century in cricket against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup.

"The Little Master", who had never scored three figures against Bangladesh in a One Day International, took 138 balls to hit his ton in Mirpur to end a long wait for his phenomenal feat.

After he jogged to the opposite crease for a single to bring up his hundred, Bangadeshi players immediately congratulated him on his achievement.

Reflecting on his latest century, he said: "A year ago when I got my 99th hundred no-one spoke about it during the World Cup, then I guess it was the media who began talking about it.

"Wherever I went, to a restaurant, the house keeping, the room service, whoever I met just spoke about the 100th hundred.

"I have lost about 50 kilos. Enjoy the game and chase your dreams. I had to wait for 22 years for one dream, the World Cup."

Tendulkar's last century came over a year ago in a ODI against South Africa in Nagpur last year.

He had to wait 370 days to reach the milestone, in which time his batting average was 32.9 in 33 innings and twice he was dismissed in the 90s.

The 38-year-old now holds 51 Test hundreds alongside 49 one-day international tons. He has scored 15,470 Test runs and over 18,000 in the ODI format.

Tendulkar also hit another milestone during the ODI match, becoming the first batsman to hit 2,000 boundaries.

But he didn't last much longer. Tendulkar added just 14 more runs before Mushfiqur Rahim caught him from Mashrafe Mortaza's delivery.
