Team USA London 2012 Olympic Pictures Criticised (PICTURES)

GALLERY: Brilliant? Bad? Or Brilliantly Bad? Team USA Pose For Olympic Snaps

United States Olympians' pictures taken by Joe Klamar ahead of the London 2012 Olympics have been panned after their unveiling on the internet.

Award-winning Slovak-Canadian photographer Klamar has opted for a peculiar depiction of the athletes, from the unflattering to the unseen.

Slate magazine commented: "Klamar’s portfolio makes our athletes look silly and desperate - the wrinkled guts of a makeshift studio serves only to steal their spotlight."

The release of the photographs on Independence Day only seemed to intensify the negative backlash with 22 days to go until the Games begin.
