Yaya Sanogo has passed a medical ahead of his transfer to Arsenal, according to reports.

Auxerre offered the striker a two-year deal however Sanogo has opted to join the north London club, who have qualified for the Champions League for a 16th successive season.

"He gave us his answer. He chose to join Arsenal and so he left his last medical visit there," Auxerre president Cotret Guy confirmed earlier this week.

Now reports in France say Sanogo has undergone his medical and will sign imminently.

Arsène Wenger last week revealed the Gunners were in "advanced talks" to sign the 20-year-old.

The France Under-21 international has scored eight goals in seven Ligue 2 games this season, with four of his appearances coming from the substitutes' bench.

Sanogo was linked with Arsenal earlier this year and Wenger finally confirmed Arsenal were likely to sign the Ivory Coast international.

"It is in advanced stages but it is not done," Wenger said at his pre-match press conference. "I'm very confident. He is a big talent."
