Ben Foster has signed for West Bromwich Albion from Birmingham City on a three-year deal.

The former Manchester United goalkeeper spent the entire 2011/12 season on loan at the Hawthorns, in an exchange deal which saw Boaz Myhil head in the other direction to St Andrews on loan for the campaign.

And the 29-year-old goalkeeper has expectedly inked a permanent contract, making him new manager Steve Clarke's first official signing.

Clarke said: ""Ben's been a priority signing all summer. A quality goalkeeper is worth 10 or 12 points a season - and that's certainly what we think we've got in Ben Foster."

Foster expressed his delight on Twitter...

He then added: "Want to say a huge thank you to all at BCFC and the fans, will always look back at my time with you with fondness. I'll never forget what you have done for me and will always remember the carling cup final as that meant so much to me, and you. My best wishes for the future."

Foster made 39 appearances for the Baggies last season under Roy Hodgson, missing just one Premier League game.

He moved to Birmingham from Old Trafford in 2010 for £6m and won the man of the match award in their League Cup final triumph over Arsenal.
