Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has admitted he could leave White Hart Lane in the summer if the club fails to secure a Champions League spot.
Spurs are six points behind fourth place Liverpool following a 1-0 defeat at Norwich on Sunday, with a north London derby with Arsenal sandwiched between trips to Chelsea and Anfield next month.
And Vertonghen, who joined the club for £9.6 million from Ajax in 2012, has become the latest player to hint he will consider his future after Hugo Lloris suggested he could seek a move at the end of the campaign.
Vertonghen signed for Spurs nearly two years ago
When asked about his future at Spurs, Vertonghen told the Telegraph: "Those are always difficult questions. What I want is to play in the Champions League with Tottenham, so, hopefully, I will get there this year.
"I don’t complain about anything. Let’s see after the end of the season and after the World Cup."
Capable of playing at left-back or as a defensive midfielder, Vertonghen's preferred position is in central defence and his potential availability could attract Manchester United. David Moyes is on the lookout for a left-back, a centre-back and two midfielders in the close season.
