We Asked Conservative Americans At CPAC If They Knew Who Nigel Farage Is

We Asked American Political Activists If They'd Ever Heard Of Farage

On Thursday, Nigel Farage delivered a speech to American political activists at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) just outside of Washington DC.

The Ukip leader became the subject of some fun back home in Britain, after it was noted the hall to which he spoke was not exactly full of interested spectators.

The Huffington Post UK went along to CPAC, which saw speeches from likely Republican presidential candidates including Jeb Bush, Scott Walker and Rand Paul, to ask the delegates what they thought of Farage.

It turned out a lot of them had not even heard of the insurgent eurosceptic Briton who hopes to hold the balance of power after May's general election.

When asked if they had heard of the Ukip leader, responses included "no", "who?" and "I should have Googled him". However one delegate who had seen him address the conference agreed Farage was an "excellent speaker".
