Chinese premier Li Kequiang is visiting Britain for a three-day visit, in which he is set to seal at least £17 billion worth of deals and hold talks on a variety of issues.

Coalition ministers have already moved to relax visa rules to help attract businesses and students from China, now the world's second largest economy.

China's massive business interests in Britain are already known, with former deputy prime minister Lord Prescott admitting that the UK was going "cap in hand" to China.

China, the world's second largest economy, has a gross domestic product of approximately $9.2 trillion, according to the International Monetary Fund, dwarfing the UK's $2.5 trillion.
China produces nearly a tenth of the world's wealth(02 of08)

China contributes around 8% of the world's gross domestic product, compared to the UK contributing just below 2%.

China's economy grew by 7.7% in 2013, a growth rate that Britain would kill for, as the UK's economy grew by just 1.7% in the same year, downgraded from a 2011 prediction of 2.9%.

China is the world's biggest steel producer, making 68,835 thousand tonnes worth in April alone. Meanwhile, the UK managed to produce just 1,090 thousand tonnes in the same month.

Britain consumes just over 1.6 million barrels of oil a day, while China fuels itself on 10.7 million barrels of oil per day, with that demand set to soar to 11.1 million this year.

China's art market is on the up, knocking the UK into third place back in 2010. It now has 24% of the global art market, compared to Britain's 20% share, according to the European Fine Art Foundation.
