Nigel Farage And His 10 Frightful Feuds

It's a rocky road on the journey to the top and when you reach there it can be a lonely place.

This seems especially true if that rocky road is leading to the top of Ukip - ask Mr Farage.

He's managed to fall out with a remarkable number of people around him, over the years, from party co-founders to the new generation of rising stars.

Here we take a look at some of Farage's finest feuds...

Sked founded Ukip but any nostalgic fondness for the party or its leader are long gone. He has variously referred to the aprty as "morally dodgy", "anti-Islam", "anti-immigrant" and once called Farage himself an "alcoholic dim racist".

Another of the Ukp founders, Holmes broke a 10-year silence to have a pop at Farage's running of the party accusing him of not vetting thoroughly enough. Of the party's members he said: "A few had ability, but the rest were a crowd of oddities." (credit:BBC)

Once heralded as the 'future face' of Ukip, Swann opted out of the party saying: "I can't bring myself to campaign for them. The focus moved to immigration. It was difficult with the anti-gay marriage stuff. Now so much of their argument is anti-immigration which didn't sit well with me."

Andreasen was a senior member of Ukip but left accusing Farage of being a "Stalinist dictator" and "anti-women". Farage responded by calling her claims "laughable nonsense".
David Campbell Bannerman(05 of09)

Campbell Bannerman, who wrote Ukip's general election manifesto, defected to the Tories in 2010. Farage called the manifesto "drivel" and branded him an "idiot". Lovely. In retort Campbell Bannerman called Farage a "joker" who is not good enough to be a "serious political leader".

Thandi went from Ukip's youth wing's rising star and face of diversity to renegade thorn in Farage's side in the space of a very short seven days. The disgruntled Thandi called the party and it's members "racist".

Nattrass is the former deputy Ukip leader who quit in protest at Farage's leadership. He called Farage an "excellent frontman" but a "very bad leader". He added: "He only wants people in the party who absolutely and totally agree with him, so I'm regarded as a troublemaker."

Bloom's antics were too much even for the rather heady standards of Ukip and he was forced out over his various outbursts and meltdowns.He hit back at Farage, his former Farage, saying he was "not fit to lead".

Natasha Bolter, one of Ukip's most high-profile women candidates, has accused the party's general secretary of sexual harassment. The 35-year-old claims that Bird propositioned her over dinner on the day that he interviewed her as a prospective candidate.
