The current crisis in the party aside, I would urge the next MP for Batley and Spen to remain neutral in the crisis. The job should be to represent constituents, hold the government to account and ignore anything else. In my view Jo Cox's memory cannot be remembered as it should be if her successor is immediately drawn into battle for the leadership.

The Polls Are Misleading and Inaccurate

The polls are misleading and I have never believed them since I was a boy. The last election seemed to prove my belief as we saw the 10 o'clock BBC prediction shatter the dreams of the Labour Party for the past five years.

South Essex Conservatives Took a Hammering in a Labour Surge

In all the Labour Party did well either cutting majorities ready for the next election to expelling Conservative Councillors outright. For an area once claimed as Conservative untouchable heartland, the area has become more open to the Labour Party.
