Ukip Party Slogan Is Rehash Of BNP's 'Love Britain' Campaign

It's Ukip party conference this week, and emblazoned across the walls of the conference venue in Torquay was the party's new slogan - 'Love Britain, Vote Ukip'.

Except, as the Guido Fawkes blog pointed out , we've seen that slogan somewhere before.

That was on the BNP's campaign literature, which also bore the image of a tub of Marmite.

A Ukip spokeswoman said the party was "reclaiming" the line by using it.

That particular leaflet got the far-right party into a spot of bother with the folks over at Unilever, the makers of Marmite.

Leader Nigel Farage is set place immigration at the centre of Ukip's forthcoming European election campaign on Friday as it bids to become the biggest British party in the Strasbourg parliament.

Buoyed by a series of strong by-election showings, Farage will tell the Ukip spring conference in Torquay that the party now poses the biggest threat to the "political establishment" seen in modern times.
