Naomi Hefter - The Misunderstood Comedian

Naomi Hefter - The Misunderstood Comedian
|

Hello to all you Goons, Geeks and Goddess's. My name is Naomi Hefter. You don't know me now, but you will in 2016 or possibly before that! I really hope the world doesn't end this year, I would be left feeling pretty bummed out with all the work I've been putting in over the last three years to get where I am now.

You see, I'm an up and coming comedian/model/writer/entertainer/poet/porn addict/steak fan with a difference.

I stand out from the crowd due to my appearance. This has its advantages and its curse.

The "normal comic", you know the ones, male, 32, dressed in an Urban outfitters T-shirt and a pair of scruffy Converse, can easily walk into a comedy club and let the bar man know they are there to do a gig that night. However, I walk in , all 6'1 of me ( in my black shiny stilettos of course ) in my sexy skinny jeans and my thick, black over the top eyelashes ( no, I'm not a transvestite before you ask ) lets the barman know I'm there to do a gig. Nine times out ten, I'll get the pleasantly surprised but mildly shocked expression staring back at me. However, I have experienced on more than one occasion the bar man impatiently replying "uh, no, you can't get in to see the comedy that way, it's a fiver I'm afraid".... Very infuriating.

On the flip side, I'm very well remembered , easy on the eye and happy to be going home after a gig knowing I've been a refreshing comic to talk about.

In case you are wondering, does an attractive female comic get all the smoothly ran gigs, dodging all the heckles. I promise you this is not the case. And whom you ask, is heckling me? Woman of course! Fascinating and disappointing may I add, that so many woman aren't supporting other woman in comedy. A group of woman once booed me off stage simply because I opened with the story of being mistaken for a mannequin.. I know now, to end with this gag :-/ But still, harsh and frustrating it is at times for me to be on stage trying to bear my soul AND make strangers laugh at the same time

By the way, if you are going to this year's Edinburgh festival, please come and watch my show and see for your self Im not what you think I would be or do I say the typical things that female comics usually talk about.

You can't miss my flyers and posters, as it's a simple and modest photo of two naked gals with sencor strips against their ladies parts. But just for your personal information, it will be held at the Three Sisters, at 8pm from 6th - 16th August. And the fun part is, the show is set on a double decker bus!

You can also follow me on http://www.facebook.com/pages/Naomi-Hefter/134446837755#!/pages/Naomi-Hefter/134446837755 where you will get updates, gig information and photos of my pulling absurd faces whilst gigging.

Thank you for reading, and I look forward to signing an autograph for you one of these days!
