Former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke may be 82 years of age, but he's not going to let that stop him from necking a beer when it's asked of him, now is he?

Offered the drink by some cricket fans at the SCG Australia vs India test match on 4 January, he necked it, no questions asked, as this YouTube video above proves.

Accompanied by chants and hollers from the Sydney stadium crowd, there's one distinct moment when you can hear, "One for the country, Robert!"

Sure, it's just a schooner - essentially two-thirds of a pint - but it's not bad for an old fella. Not bad at all.

The much-loved one-time Prime Minister has a history of drinking like a champion, even downing a yard of ale (two and a half pints) in 11 seconds at the Turf Tavern when he was at Oxford University in 1953 - a record at the time.
