Knowing me, filming you! Aha!

Yes, attention all Steve Coogan fans. The Alan Partridge movie that we've been tempted with for oh-so very long "will be shot later in the year", says producer Armando Iannucci.

"It’s just about all come together now," he tells Empire online. Declan Lowney - whose previous credits include Father Ted - will be directing, while the title is yet to be decided.

"At the moment it’s 'The Alan Partridge Movie' but that’s just a working title," says Iannucci. "[The script] is written [but] we’re always rewriting, rewriting and rewriting."

And what story are they exactly rewriting? Well, as Iannucci himself tweeted: "It's NOT Alan goes to America." As he once explained: "We don't see Alan... getting Simon Cowell's spot on American Idol and going over there. That's too good for Alan. [His] future is always brighter in his head than it is in the real world."

Well, indeed. Wherever the setting and whatever the story, we doubt that Messrs Coogan and Iannucci will disappoint...
