Miraculous Recovery For Elephant Struck By A Poacher's Arrow
|

These incredible pictures show an elephant injured in Kenya’s Tsavo National Park, having been struck by an ivory poacher’s poisoned arrow. Fortunately for the animal, medics from the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust quickly reached the ailing creature, treating the bull before it succumbed to the poison.

According to the vets, the deadly arrow was removed and the wound cleaned out. The elephant then received a course of long-acting antibiotics to counter the effects of the poison. Rob Brandford, Director of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, said that the animal would have died had the emergency team not quickly intervened.
