Cher Lloyd Signs US Record Deal With X Factor USA's LA Reid

Cher's Heading Stateside

When Cher Lloyd tottered off to America last month we suspected she had bigger plans up her sleeve than a spot of sightseeing and a catch up with Uncle Simon.

And it turns out we were right as she's landed herself a mahoosive American recording contract.

The Marmite popstar has revealed she has signed a US deal with Epic Records, run by X Factor USA judge LA Reid.

There seems to be a lot of love going on between the pair as LA Reid previoulsy spoke of his hopes for Cher when she took a trip to the X Factor USA studios, telling a pre-show report:

"Cher is going to be a massive star in America. I'm going on record to say Cher Lloyd, watch out."

She told the BBC morning show how she was looking forward to working with the supremo - who is behind the careers of Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Pink.

"He said that I am very outgoing, and I say what I want and sometimes it comes out before I get to think about what's going to come out of my mouth and he likes that," she said.

"He just said that I'm really fresh and he's very excited."

She also added that she didn't expect to be an overnight success in the US, given how notoriously difficult it can be for British stars to crack it over the pond.

"I'm not going to run before I can walk. It's quite a big thing to try and achieve, but you never know what's going to happen."

It's a bit of a backtrack for Cher - who is usually famed for her snarly attitude - as she previously hit out at fellow Brit Robbie Williams on his unsuccessful attempts to crack the States.

"I want to be the one to succeed and make it work. I'm no Robbie Williams," she told The Mirror.

Perhaps she's not feeling quite as confident as she once was given her last single With Ur Love and debut album failed to hit the top spot...
