Deconstructing the Construct; Journalism in a State of Flux

Let's cut to the chase - I don't want to beat about the bush or mince my words - It's time to step up to the plate and have a heads-up with the nest of vipers that is the can of worms that is Plain English.

Let's cut to the chase - I don't want to beat about the bush or mince my words - It's time to step up to the plate and have a heads-up with the nest of vipers that is the can of worms that is Plain English.

Plain English is no niche market - au contraire - it is a viable and crititically relevant universal template, a heady cocktail of some thousands of words.

By opening this Pandora's box, I am mindful of not wanting to get egg on my face by slipping up on the potential banana skin of falling into the trap of cliche.

Plain talk has been on a vertiginous downward trajectory, the interface between originator and consumer undergoing a meltdown transitory phase.

Get real! In layman's terms, we now have to deconstruct the construction of the English lingua franca and construct the reconstruction of the construct - remodel the model, if you will.

Our amazing English language is a slippery eel of an animal on shifting sands and demands a safe pair of hands to build a solid platform to provide a vehicle for the consolidation imperative to ring-fence our mother tongue.

At this tipping point, a raft of insightful initiatives needs to be floated - we must not rest on the laurels of complacency, pro-actively confronting the parameters of the dragons of complacency.

We need to take the linguistic bull by the horns, jump the shark, swerve the elephant in the room, eschew vacuous cod-philosophy and re-focus and re-orientate to the orbit of the language of the man on the street - ahem, the person on the street...!

This is no time for empty rhetoric - the zeitgeist cries out for a pro-active and impactful polemic.

From the get-go we need to think outside the box, re-purpose, and fast-track a holistic soul-searching of an accountable and tangible mash-up condusive to a chillax mindset.

In a nutshell, we need - in a word...

Transparency.

I hope I have made myself clear.
