The 22-year-old student is the daughter of Dr Ru MacDonagh, who heads up Peter's Zanzibar charity and treated the 39-year-old star when he suffered from kidney stones.
"That’s it, really. I think it’s going to take me a long time to actually want to get in a relationship. I always think I’m ready, but then I think I’m trying too hard, so I back off. It is what it is."
But it seems Pete's had a change of heart - he's already introduced Emily to his family and has described her as 'beautiful' in his latest New! magazine column.
"'She's a beautiful girl," he said. "We've been on a few dates but we're continuing to get to know each other.'
