A self-styled Welsh superhero called Captain Beany has had 60 supersized bake beans tattooed onto his head for charity. Cpt Beany, real name Barry Kirk, had his favourite food permanently inked onto his bald head in order to celebrate his 60th birthday and raise money for a good cause. Each of the beans featured the initial of a person who has donated £60 to the Marlie-Grace Appeal. As such he has been able to raise £3600 to help 4-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer Marlie Grace Robert, who needs an operation to help her walk. Barry is so obsessed with baked beans that he changed his name to Captain Beany by deedpole in 1991 and has even turned his home into a baked bean museum. (credit:REX)
