24 Aug 2014 Photographer Tom Hughes headed to the Lake District to capture this stunning image of the Milky Way from the top of Catbells. Describing the experience, he commented: "I was sat in the car park for more than 3 hours before it was dark. Then with my head torch on I set off up the mountain with my girlfriend and when we arrived at the summit we were greeted by an amazing view of the Milky Way right in front of us. After setting up my camera and seeing around 6 shooting stars we got in to position and within two attempts the image was perfect!" He added: "I have been after this type of image for around 3 years and I finally got the opportunity. We eventually arrived back at the car around 2am after a very successful shoot.
