Tom Cruise took daughter Suri as his plus one to an awards ceremony in New York, as his wife Katie Holmes was too busy to attend.

But before we wag our fingers, we're sure she had a perfectly valid excuse. Oh now wait, she was out in Taiwan promoting an - err - ice skating event. Maybe someone needs to rethink their priorities!

Suri stole the show wearing an adorable pink dress and we're sure she was over the moon for staying up past her bed time.

Tom was also in town promoting Rock of Ages where he plays rocker Stacee Jaxxx.

Speaking with Ryan Seacreast on E! News he revealed how 6-year-old Suri was confused when he came home from the set wearing make-up.
