Land mines from the Balkan conflict have been dislodged by more than 3,000 landslides after serious flooding claimed dozens of lives across Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia.
Entire towns have been laid to waste by the onslaught of rain and flood water, with fears mounting that unexploded weapons from the 1990s conflict have been swept into residential areas.
Tens of thousands of people have been forced from their homes, and waters threaten Serbia's main power plant, which supplies electricity to a third of the country.
More than 10,000 people have now been rescued from a single Bosnian town, Bijeljina in northeast, with more than 1,500 troops on the ground.
