Brussels Attacks: Astonishing Pictures From Inside Zaventem Airport Show Eerie Aftermath Of Terror Attack

Eerie pictures show the hazy horror inside Brussels Zaventem Airport after two explosions killed 14 people and injured at least 81.

In the images taken after the bombs detonated, a smoke and dust-laced fog fills the terminal as those caught up in the terrorist attack rise from the floors and clamber for the exits.

The second, louder explosion, brought down ceilings and ruptured pipes. Spilled water mixed with victims blood, and dust and smoke cloaked the air.

At least one of the blasts was from a suicide bomber.  An unexploded bomb belt and a Kalashnikov assault rifle rifle have been found at the scene.

Belgian news agency Belga said shots were fired at the airport and there were shouts in Arabic shortly before the explosions.

A further explosion at Maalbeck Station killed 20. At least one Briton was injured in the attacks.
