Over the weekend, the souls of departed loved ones were honoured around Latin America.

Celebrants blend pre-Columbian rituals with the Roman Catholic observance of all Saint's Day on 1 November and All Soul's Day on the 2nd to mark the Day of the Dead.

Relatives of the deceased descend on graveyards to hold vigils next to the tombs of passed loved ones.
