Panic-stricken passengers have recorded the moment emergency workers in protective suits removed five people on board a flights from Dubai who were feared to have Ebola.

The passengers with people with flu-like symptoms were removed by a team in full hazmat suits and masks, after the plane landed in Boston, according to Reuters.

Other passengers were told to remain on the plane for two and a half hours yesterday, while the five were escorted off.

Instagram user Tracyble, who was on the plane, posted this video:

Emirates flight 237 had travelled from Dubai to Boston.

The evacuation was the result of "an abundance of caution" according to Massachusetts Port Authority spokesman Matthew Brelis, who said none of the ill passengers had recently been to West Africa, where over 4,000 people have died from the deadly Ebola outbreak.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has now said the incident was "not an Ebola scare" and that there is little chance any of the passengers have Ebola as none had had contact with people from infected regions.

The incident follows a full-scale emergency response to a man who joked that he had Ebola on a plane travelling from Philadelphia to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

The flight was swiftly boarded by emergency personnel wearing blue hazmat suits when it landed, but it turned out to be a false alarm.
