England coach Roy Hodgson has again urged fans to stay out of fights before and after his team's final group game at the European Championship.

The Three Lions head into the Group B finale in first place with four points. Wales and Slovakia are a point behind, while Russia is bottom with a single point. All four teams can qualify for the knockout stages of Euro 2016.

Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy could both start, but Wayne Rooney is expected to be rested with England only needing a point to confirm their place in the last 16. Some newspapers are reporting Hodgson could make as many as six changes.

The last time the countries played England won 4-0 in a friendly in 2009.

There's been a high security presence around England fans since they arrived in France earlier this month and violence marred the team's first match in Marseille against Russia.

There was more unrest around the team's second match in the northern city Lille against Wales but it was less marked than the incidents in Marseille.

More than 1,100 police officers will be deployed in the Saint-Etienne area and 51 soldiers will be mobilised to guarantee security around England's match with Slovakia. Some 839 privately-hired security agents are also helping to monitor fans.

Speaking in Saint-Etienne, where England takes on Slovakia tonight, Hodgson says it's "our hope, our dream" that the atmosphere surrounding the game will remain peaceful.

Hodgson says "we want fans to come here to enjoy the football. We urge them to be cautious about coming without tickets. We urge them to stay out of fights and stay out of trouble."

French police used tear gas to disperse English fans on Wednesday in Lille, the fourth time England fans have been involved in violent incidents since the start of the tournament. Last week in Marseille, they were involved in three days of intense fighting that left one England supporter seriously injured.

Hodgson says "we hope that he will recover as soon as possible and that his injuries won't be long-lasting. We don't like to hear that our fellow countrymen are in hospitals after being injured in violence."

Monday's game at Stade Geoffroy Guichard is regarded as a high-risk match because supporters from both sides have fought each other in the past
