Melbourne's weather is unpredictable as the best of times but it's currently suffering under the intense heat.

The city is currently experiencing temperatures exceeding 40C for a third day in a row.

Play was halted for over four hours during the Australian Open as officials waited for the mercury to cool before continuing play, one photographer even decided to fry an egg court side in the sizzling heat.

Last week we saw the Polar Vortex And The Best Freezing Faces and now we're witnessing the frying faces of the Melbourne Heatwave.
