Nando's Leicester Runs Out Of Chicken, People Panic

There Is Some Peri Peri Bad News For Nando's Customers

Nando's Leicester went into meltdown on Wednesday after it was temporarily unable to serve some of its signature dishes.

Steffan Powell wrote on Twitter: "So I'm in @NandosUK in #Leicester...and there is no chicken... I repeat NO Chicken..."

Declan Harvey tweeted: "@NandosUK So... There are no chickens at your Leicester restaurant. Talk to me about that...??!!!!"

A user with the Twitter handle NestaMcG also commented on the shortage at the Granby Street branch.

"I don't want to cause mass hysteria but @NandosUK in Leicester has run out of chicken," he said.

"I'm still coming to terms with what happen. One colleague is inconsolable."

In response to his complaints, Nando's official feed tweeted: "Thanks for getting back to us Nesta, we'll pick this up with the team now."

A Nando's spokeswoman said: "Our Leicester Granby Street restaurant experienced an incredibly busy weekend.

"Many customers were rushing to use their final remaining chillies on their old paper loyalty rewards cards, and we also

launched Online Takeaway.

"The restaurant unfortunately ran out of some chicken options, but only for a short period of time. We would like to apologise to those customers who couldn't get their preferred PERi-PERi meal."

Nando's has around 300 restaurants and has seen its popularity surge with celebrity devotees including Premier League footballers.

In May customers at a branch in Bristol were stunned when Prime Minsiter David Cameron walked in for a meal.
