It's normally tourists flocking to Covent Garden, but this week the famous piazza had a different sort of flock… in the form of 120 giant sculptures of Aardman’s loveable character Shaun the Sheep.Having been displayed across London and Bristol to form two art trails earlier this year, the five-foot sculptures will be exhibited in 'The Great Sheep Round-Up' at Covent Garden from Thursday 24th September to Sunday 27th September, before being auctioned for Wallace &Gromit’s Children's Charity on 8th October. The giant versions of the hugely popular character have been designed by celebrities, artists and brand collaborators - including supermodel David Gandy, Red or Dead founder Wayne Hemingway, fashion designer Dame Zandra Rhodes and DreamWorks Animation. Auctioning royalty Tim Wonnacott will lead the bidding process on October 8th and will be inspecting the flock in person on Friday 25th September – providing the perfect opportunity for potential bidders to get some expert advice on the sculptures.
