A row has broken out over the new UK passport design, which claims to represent "some of the best achievements of the last 500 years in Great Britain and Northern Ireland" but features just two women.

The pages of the travel document are supposed to celebrate creative Britons. Men featured include William Shakespeare, artist John Constable and sculptor Anish Kapoor.

The only women to feature are mathematician and writer Ada Lovelace and architect Elisabeth Scott.

A barrage of criticism has appeared online, while the Fawcett Society said that the Passport Office has "airbrushed women out of history".

Many people, including Labour MP Stella Creasy, began suggesting their own additions to the "Creative United Kingdom" passport...

The Huffington Post UK has put together our own suggestions for who else could appear on the new passport - now you can decide who deserves a place on the pages by upvoting and downvoting...
