UK Weather: Wet Weekend For West Britain While South East Basks In Balmy Temperatures

Temperature To Climb To 30C Over The Weekend

Parts of Britain will bask in hot and summery weather at the weekend, with London expected to reach a sweltering 30C.

The mercury will creep up to around 27C on Friday evening with sunny spells sweeping across the south and south east, providing a sultry start to the weekend.

However while the bottom quarter of England sunbathes, severe weather warnings have been issued for Wales, Northern Ireland and the west of England on Friday.

Some areas will experience up to 50mm of rain, and though respite is on the way on Saturday, clouds will dominate the weekend skies in the west.

Yet the Met Office warns that though the weather will be nice in parts, it certainly won’t be unbroken sunshine, with partial cloud cover making it feel quite humid.

Brits holidaying in Europe will have to be careful not to burn however, with the continent experiencing a blistering heat wave.

Temperatures will hit 35C in Paris, while in Granada, Southern Spain holidaymakers will experience a scorching 45C.
