PHOTOS: Heart Break For Families In Somerset
|

Moorland in Somerset is one the worst affected areas as the record rainfall sweeps through the country.

The Marines have finally been called in to help build flood defences and the government has pledged over £100m to help rebuild communities. But no amount of money could ever make up for the personal loss and agony that the families are going through.

Local farmers in the area are having to relocate their live stock to higher ground over safety fears for their animals.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police has said that over 80 homes in the village of Moorland in Somerset have been evacuated, but a small amount of residents have decided to stay in their homes.
